After lecture, I "kesi-kesi" (pretend) to help the lecturer sending the tray of meat to the lab. My lecturer knows me too well, and she allows me to take those chunk back home.. hoo hoo~
This was my very first time to cook beef.
Maybe I should try stir fry? like those shown in the drama series where the handsome hero will cook steak and wait for the heroin to come over .. or should I fry it like the one in "tie pie tong" (hawker stall)?
In the end , I tried both. The taste is good, but the texture is .... very chewy.. good exercise for my face and teeth.
Right : " chewing-gum fry beef with carrots and cucumber"
Still got quite a lot of meat (Sirloin mar.. big big chunk of meat)
The first thing I did when I woke up is -- open the fridge, and take out the meat(must finish it, scare it will rot . I tend to left my food in the fridge till the bacteria "decompose" it well.)
Hence, I learnt my lesson. I decided to stew / slow cook the meat.
Dang dang dang dang....
It tastes so yummy, tender and juicy.
Brought it to school to feed my hungry newphew. Then to my closest coursemates's house to let them taste..(they came last night to try my first product. Even though they didn't say anything, from their expression and lack of action, I knew that they were more like being forced to finish the beefy chewing-gum . )
I think I deserve a second chance.
At first they are quite reluctant to take the first bite. Everyone kept on gazing each other and saying:" You try first la... you try first la... "
At last , Q took the first bite. Suddenly her eyes shine like a star, " Soft and delicious!" Within a second, she took another bite. While the other quickly took over the fork and put a piece of the meat inside her mouth. " Yummy! "
I was really syok while watching them eating happily. It compensates my tiredness and disappointment that I had yesterday.
Cooking can be very tiring. Hence we have to give thanks to those who cook for us.
